Mission

To underwrite and develop a profitable Property and Casualty treaty portfolio in the UK and Irish market.

Accountabilites

Underwriting

  • Underwriting, developing and monitoring UK & Ireland treaty clients based on PartnerRe’s client strategy
  • Underwriting function includes pricing, client management and managing reinsurance contract wordings
  • Portfolio includes Property, Casualty and Motor Treaty Business
  • Handling of certain administrative tasks connected to underwriting, including managing data and supporting operation functions, such as Underwriting Operations and Claims
  • Monitoring of market activities (recent news, legal and business trends, etc.)

Marketing

  • Responsible for client and broker relationships within a team context
  • Coordinating and promoting market activities
  • Solution provider for insurers and brokers
  • Positioning PartnerRe as a leading reinsurer in UK and Ireland

Reporting

  • Monitoring of results and developments for the allocated portfolio, including controlling of data quality; monitoring and controlling of related accumulations any one event and per risk
  • Taking active part in reporting and in qualitative and quantitative planning with Team Head
  • Preparation of annual Market Strategy with Team Head
  • Contribution to regular as well as specific management information requests

 

Requirements

3-5 years experience in the UK and Ireland Non Life (re)insurance sector:

Technical skills

  • Good knowledge of Property, Casualty and Motor (re)insurance
  • IT literate, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Familiar with (re)insurance wordings

Personal

  • Strong team player with ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Self-motivated working style with a solution orientation, and able to produce results on-time and under pressure
  • Strong analytical, marketing, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Education/Further requirements

 

  • University degree in an economics, social sciences or quantitative subject
  • Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus
  • A.C.I.I. or equivalent (re)insurance qualification is a plus
