Team Leader of Non Life Closing and Controlling

Mission
Guarantee a timely, accurate and efficient quarterly financial reporting

Area of responsibilities
Assist in the coordination of the quarterly closing and management reporting process for the non life business of PartnerRe Global:
  • Assist with the production and the monitoring of each closing timetable.
  • Assist in preparing the financial data required for the various quarterly closing processes during the quarter and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of the synthesis of the non life results each quarter for the Global CFO.
  • Assist the head of closing and controlling in producing the flash and results presentation.
  • Assist with the analysis of production, quarterly and YTD figures and their development over time. Provide explanations for actual versus prior year and plan deviations.

 
SOX and Audit Process :

  • Assisting to ensure all controls are competed on a timely basis.
  • Assist with the quarterly external audit and with the internal audits during the course of the year.

Other:
  • Respond to ad hoc requests (group, auditors, regulators and rating agencies).
  • Participate in various projects as they arise e.g. Solvency II

Controlling Repository Project:
  • Develop business object reports for Non Life reporting

 

Reinsurance Results:
  • Assist with the analysis of the Global Reinsurance Results as required by Group Finance or Local Finance for statutory purposes.
  • Analysis of external retro result.
  • Develop and maintain analysis of internal retro activities.

Support the integration activities of ParisRe.


Competencies

Technical
  • Accounting and/or controlling background – Finance degree or accountancy qualification.
  • At least 2 years work experience in an accounting/controlling position, ideally in reinsurance or insurance

Additional
  • IT affinity
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Access)
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-confident person, able to work independently in a dynamic and international company
  • Flexibility to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong work ethic, persistent, strive for improvements


Education/Further requirements

  • Business school diploma in accounting or finance or University degree
