PartnerRe’s Fixed Income business unit is responsible for investing the funds set aside to fulfill our reinsurance obligations. This is the bulk of our assets, $16 billion, and generates the majority of our investment income. These funds are invested in investment-grade securities of high credit quality.
The business unit is organized into Credit, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Global Fixed Income and Structured Credit. Each department is comprised of one or more portfolio managers and a specialized team of analysts, all operating within one common investment philosophy: bottom-up security-intensive investing that offers attractive risk/return opportunities.
Our Fixed Income team manages each portfolio within PartnerRe’s transparent risk management framework. There is an emphasis on risk control through portfolio diversification by sector and issuer.
